STARQUEST / STARQUEST 4TH AGE
Each new book in this series floors me with the fun I have reading it. The characters are so fun to follow and the twists and turns they go through seem so true to their written nature that it feels plausible each step of the way. I will say his male characters definitely exhibit some extremely strong Delta characteristics in that they are pedestalizing their female interests to a very strong degree despite otherwise being presented as Alphas or Sigma's. It's a strange dichotomy, but those picky issues aside, I can't wait to read the next book!

Space Opera is not only alive and kicking in John C. Wright's "Starquest Book One: Space Pirates of Andromeda", but this might be one of the best examples the genre has to offer. If you love space opera, if you feel that Star Wars is no longer Star Wars, if you just love a ridiculously good story, do yourself a favor, buy this book, read it, revel in it. You'll be glad you did.

Amazon 5-Star Review of Space Pirates of Andromeda
Characters with beginnings both humble and great, that develop in believable ways and actually move the plot forward rather than simply being cardboard cutouts witnessing events. Ideas and ideals honorable and grand, a bold sweeping ride that is hard to put down and will leave you hungry for more. We will mention him among the greats like Heinlein, Asimov, Tolkien and Correia, if this grand vision of the future is completed as well as it has started.

Amazon 5-Star Review of Galen's Way
This was my first venture into the Starquest universe and it was a fun romp. Richard Paolinelli’s universe has a Star Wars feel to it without all of the baggage that Star Wars carries with it. His dialogue is crisp, clean, and the pacing takes the reader on a wild ride. There’s political intrigue and good old fashioned swashbuckling in this novel. This is a universe of royal hostages, daring rescues, androids, AI, and good old-fashioned blasters and blades. This is a galaxy spanning saga that doesn’t get bogged down in technobabble and burden of weighty canon. The lead character, Galen Dwyn, is all of the best parts of Han Solo and a bit of the Stainless Steel Rat. For readers looking for a space opera fun, this book delivers.

ST. TOMMY NYPD
Demonic-possessed serial-killer? Check.
Good guy cop with saintly powers? Check.
Unapologetically Christian? Check.
Top-notch writing? Absolutely.
If you like a story that grabs you by the scruff of the neck, and doesn't let go, then you owe it to yourself to get this book!

I've eagerly read the St. Tommy books since the beginning. Before the series was half over, I declared him the best original character of the millennium and at least in my personal top five. This is the best possible ending for his story. It's full of the trademark all out action but peppered with moments that just might bring a tear to your eye. If haven't read this series yet, what are you waiting for?

WHITE OPS
Declan Finn is a master at snarky banter and every type of battle imaginable. There are plenty of Easter eggs from pop culture, and an underlying morality that acknowledges that evil exists and must be resisted. There's even some chaste romance. What it all boils down to is, this series is FUN. The characters are likable, even when I sometimes have trouble remembering who's who with all the alien names. White Ops is a wide-ranging, exciting space adventure series, and Politics Kills is steadily building momentum.

Amazon 5-Star Review of Politics Kills
As a boy I was into science fiction as well as the pulp heroes like The Shadow and Doc Savage. Declan Finn has captured the best of both with White Ops, the opening chapter of a trilogy, it brought me back to those days of waiting for the latest book of the adventures of Doc and his crew of compatriots embodied in Sean Ryan and his operatives. Mr. Finn has done a masterful job of capturing the flavor of those days for me. I suppose I’m still that boy because, now I’m impatiently awaiting the next installment. Well done, sir.

THE CARTER FILES
"This book has dark topics (revenge, child abduction, betrayal), but it is ultimately very hopeful and you will find yourself wanting very much to keep going. What makes it stand out is the alpha couple-- David and Sally. I hear a lot about chemistry being an undefinable thing, but what makes a reader ship characters is their ability to help each other, and David and Sally have that in spades. It doesn't matter when Sally needs rescuing because you know David cannot win the day without her. They have very different skills and both skill sets are necessary. The sum is greater than the whole. This is the ideal for literary romance and it makes a huge difference. If you have ever felt deep love, read this book and feel the warmth. If you haven't, read this book and know it is worth finding. Highly recommended!."

Amazon 5-Star Review of Raven
"Part police procedural, part cosy, part space opera with a dash of romance. It is reminiscent of an Eve Dallas tale in a unique sci-fi setting. With a galaxy spanning conspiracy, with terrorism, kidnapping and betrayal, the action never stops. With vivid characters and effortless world building you get to see and experience all this universe has to offer through the eyes of David and Veronique, the investigators. You don't want to put it down. Highly recommended."

DEL RIO
Jack grabbed me by the collar and drew me into his world; one of conspiracy, espionage, betrayal, and loyalty. The FBI, CIA, Secret Service, and our Armed Forces are what we depend on to protect us and our president. Jack never lets you nor his beloved Untied States of America down. The scenario depicted is not only plausible but also possible; that’s what makes your heart race. I am looking forward Paolinelli’s third, Shades, and fourth, Endgames, in the next year. Reservations, the first, was fabulous! Absolutely love his style.

As I read Reservations, I felt as though I was seeing the sights and experiencing the story in the first person. Never before have I been engulfed and absorbed by any book that I have read (and I am an avid reader.) Hats off to a wonderful and talented writer and author!

STANDALONE SCI-FI
When I started reading it, it went something like this: First, the Earth blew up. It was done in the most AMAZING way... by accident! Then I found myself lost in BFE with two architectural engineers and I was going WTF just happened? That's when I saw the Infinity Hotel out in the middle of nowhere and realized this was going to be one of those 'try to keep up' books. Challenge Accepted!
The plot... OMG the plot!... is non-stop whiplash where the hell is this thing going and why is it so good! (<--intentional run-on sentence)
The characters... well, there are really only three important ones, but trust me, you will know all about them before it's over with. I really can't say enough good things about how fun this book was to read. It was genuinely refreshing, and it was a mix of so many genres in one! Some of them are not even my typical reading fare, but they were written so well, so engrossingly, that I could not put it down.

Amazon 5-Star Review of Escaping Infinity
Of All The Gin Joints In The Universe is a clever merging of the detective noir and space sci-fi genres with a strong narration style. ‘Samuel Spade’ is a Private Detective on a distant space station and finds himself caught in the middle of two suspects that ultimately places him on the path to something much bigger. There are some inventive concepts in this world put together by Richard Paolinelli who draws inspiration from multiple places including present day ideas and uses them to create an immersive future. Twists and revelations eventually pay off in a story delivered with a narration style that keeps pages turning and intrigue turned up to the maximum. Within the writing there’s an appreciation for the genres and many references littered throughout that completes the reading experience.

This was a great read. I'm lucky if I can finish 1 book in 10 years, I finished this one in a day. It pulled me right in and I wasn't able to put it down until it was finished. He painted a great picture for you to follow through all parts of the book, really pulling you into his written vision. Hopefully we will see another book by this author.

What a giddy-up of a story! Jonah Blue came so alive for me that, after finishing this wild and wonderful read, I went straight to the Internet to research the Rocky Mountain Free Trapper that was Jonah Blue. With superb skill, Christina has distilled the Wild, Wild West into his Jonah Blue!

STANDALONE SHORT STORIES/NOVELLAS
This was a fantastic read right from the get go. I was hooked very early on and as the story progressed appreciated the skill and craft in writing this story even more. Novels give you a lot of room to tell a story, but short stories and novellas are a very different creature. Not all people who write novels can write novellas, or short stories. But this story is masterfully written. The characters are amazing. The plot is engaging, intense and deeply moving. In some ways the story reminds me of some of Frank Herbert’s non Dune stories, or some of the stories of Alfred Bester. The writing is tight, clean and crisp.
This is a masterfully written story. It fits in perfectly with the other stories I have read years ago. Paolinelli has breathed new life into the characters and yet remained true to their original creation. Adler shoes up asking for Holmes help, and even promises to his condition. And they are immediately off on the chase. This is a great short story. It draws you in quickly, it keeps your attention, and leaves you wanting more. Fortunately Paolinelli has written 5 other Holmes stories. The characters are masterfully written. I look forward to the other stories in this series and many of Richard’s other series.

“The Hidden Work” is a pure delight. Jones takes the sense of each quotation, the essential truth lying within it, and fashions it into a poetic expression. In doing so, he provides an illustration of what Lewis meant and an amplification of it. Yes, I think Lewis would be pleased.
