"This book has dark topics (revenge, child abduction, betrayal), but it is ultimately very hopeful and you will find yourself wanting very much to keep going. What makes it stand out is the alpha couple-- David and Sally. I hear a lot about chemistry being an undefinable thing, but what makes a reader ship characters is their ability to help each other, and David and Sally have that in spades. It doesn't matter when Sally needs rescuing because you know David cannot win the day without her. They have very different skills and both skill sets are necessary. The sum is greater than the whole. This is the ideal for literary romance and it makes a huge difference. If you have ever felt deep love, read this book and feel the warmth.
